Sugo   For the best pasta, you have to head to Sugo! Sugo has a concise but delicious menu consisting of amazing dishes such as brown butter, fresh sage tagliatelle or spicy pork fettuccine. I would personally recommend the pappardelle with beef ragu. All the dishes are between £8-12 and it's the perfect spot for a slightly fancier meal with your flatmates.  Bar Soba  Bar Soba is a classic. It offers Asian food. It has a student membership called Soba Students. If you sign up on the website, you can get 50% off food and 20% off drinks on the main menu between Sunday to Thursday. They also do a £7 lunch menu between 12-4 pm, Monday to Friday, which gets you a main meal, as well as a soft drink!  Bloc  Bloc is one of the spots that I didn’t discover till my second year, and I wish I had earlier. It is a basement bar, that often has gigs, however they also do food. Whilst the normal menu, is reasonably priced, the deal days are really where Bloc shines. They have a different dish discounted for every day of the week. On Burger Tuesday, you can get a steak or veggie burger with fries for only £4. They even do a 6oz sirloin steak with fries for £6 on Steak Wednesday. The best bit is you can stay after you have had food for some drinks and a boogie.  Naked Soup  Naked Soup, as any Glasgow student will tell you is a West-end classic. It is the perfect spot to grab some lunch in between lectures or to get takeout as a hangover cure. They do a wide range of bagels or focaccia that you can get with a bowl of soup, for about £7. It is super filling and perfect in the colder months. My favourite is the chicken noodle soup, but they rotate the flavours pretty often, so you can always try something new.  Paesanos  Paesanos is the sister of Sugo and has a similar feel. Located on Great Western Road, Paesanos offers authentic Italian pizzas for a low cost. They also offer takeout, which is perfect for the summer, so you can grab some fresh pizzas and enjoy them with your friends in Kelvingrove Park.
